Pitcher Alex Jordan Minter plays professionally in the United States for the Major League Baseball team Atlanta Braves. He was a Texas A&M University baseball player. The Braves selected Minter in the second round of the MLB draft in 2015. 2017 saw him make his MLB debut.

In the 38th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft, the Detroit Tigers selected Minter, who went to Bullard, Texas’ Brook Hill School. He played collegiate baseball at Texas A&M University without signing a contract. He played collegiate summer baseball with the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Cotuit Kettleers following the 2014 campaign Minter was turned into a starting pitcher in his junior year after pitching out of the bullpen for his first two years. He sustained an injury early in his junior year that necessitated Tommy John surgery, which put an end to his season.

The Atlanta Braves selected Minter in the second round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft.2016 saw him make his major league debut with the Rome Braves . He played for the Carolina Mudcats for two spells before being promoted to the Mississippi Braves in July, where he completed the season. Minter recorded 34+2⁄3 innings at 1.30 ERA at the end of 2016. Minter started the 2017 season with the Florida Fire Frogs and was traded to the Mississippi Braves, Rome, and Gwinnett Braves.

On August 23, 2017, Minter received his first call-up to the major leagues. Before being called up, he was 1-2 with a 3.33 ERA in 26 relief appearances for Florida, Rome, Mississippi, and Gwinnett. That evening, in the eighth inning of a game against the Seattle Mariners, he made his major league debut.Minter pitched to a 0-1 record, 3.00 ERA, and 26 strikeouts in 15 innings of work during his final months of the 2017 campaign with Atlanta.

The beginning of Minter’s 2019 season was postponed due to a minor collision in March. Due to an injury, Minter took over as closer from fellow reliever Arodys Vizcaíno; however, by late April, teammate Luke Jackson had taken over. On May 10, Minter was optioned to the Gwinnett Braves.[18] After making his way back to Atlanta in June, he was optioned to Gwinnett once more in August when the Braves acquired Mark Melancon, Chris Martin, and Shane Greene.[19][20] After the season, Minter was called up in September due to roster expansion, but he was later placed on the 60-day disabled list.

He was 3–4 with five saves, a 7.06 ERA, and 35 strikeouts in 36 bullpen appearances during the 2019 Braves season.
