Hannah Lee, the manager of Browns Youth Football, displayed to the audience the autographs of every player from all nine teams participating in the second season of Girls High School Flag while holding a football on stage.
They’ve outgrown that little football now that it’s been two years. With over 350 participants and 40 coaches, the Browns held the Girls High School Flag Football ‘A New Era Summit’ presented by Gatorade at Cleveland Browns Stadium in an effort to link young female athletes with possible career options in sports.
Journalist Stacey Frey of Fox 8 News hosted two panel discussions about football-related prospects and careers. At the first panel, attendees heard from Haslam Sports Group Vice President of Community Relations Jenner Tekancic, Browns Assistant Athletic Trainer Maikee Migallos, Senior Manager of Football Development at the National Football League Jordan Maban, Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Player Personnel Glenn Cook, and Assistant Wide Receivers Coach Callie Brownson.
They demonstrated the various professional routes one may pursue in the sports sector by sharing their own experiences to get to this point in their professions. Brownson gave a speech to the audience on the importance of persevering in sports and never forgetting that it all begins with enthusiasm. In the second panel discussion, the panelists also fielded questions from the audience.
“A reason is the first step,” Brownson stated. “I want to do that with my life and my job, and that is the first step. There are going to be many obstacles in your way. Everyone has. All of us still do. All I could say is to never forget your motivation. Remind yourself of your motivations for doing this. Recall your passion’s source. Your enthusiasm for the game of football is the reason you’re here. Just keep in mind your motivation if you want to pursue a career, as it will help you overcome any challenges.
