Moore went to St. Thomas Aquinas High School while attending Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was raised. Moore was selected an Under Armour All-American after catching 28 catches for 407 yards and five scores as a senior.[1] Considered a four-star recruit, he initially chose to commit to Georgia University’s football program over 33 other scholarship offers.[2] In December of his senior year, Moore renounced his pledge to Ole Miss.
Moore caught 36 catches for 398 yards and two scores in his first year of play.[4][5] With 67 receptions, 850 receiving yards, and six touchdown catches in his sophomore season, he led the Rebels.[6] Moore was given a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the 2019 Egg Bowl game against Mississippi State for posing as a dog urinating in the end zone after the touchdown. Consequently, the extra point attempt was extended from 20 yards to 35 yards, which Ole Miss failed to convert as they fell short 21–20.[7][8] Ole Miss fired head coach Matt Luke as a result of the defeat.
Moore was placed on the Biletnikoff Award watchlist going into his junior season.[10][11] Moore caught ten catches for 227 yards in the season opener against Florida, which is the second-highest amount in a game in school history.[12] On October 31, 2020, in a 54–21 victory over Vanderbilt, he tied the Ole Miss game records for receptions with 14 and touchdown catches with three.
He also set a new school record for receiving yards in a game with 238.[13] In just eight games, Moore set a school record with 86 receptions for 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns. However, he opted out of the season prior to the Rebels’ last regular season game to start getting ready for the 2021 NFL Draft.[14] Moore was a unanimous choice for the first team All-America and the first team All-SEC.
The New York Jets selected Moore 34th overall in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.[17] Moore signed a four-year, $8.94 million rookie contract with the Jets on July 21, 2021.
