Despite being born in Oklahoma, Roman Wilson’s adventures throughout Asia shaped him.
The former American football star is counting on his expertise to help him stand out as one of the 16 candidates on The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.
He declared, “I have worked with many different people in many different countries.” Therefore, I believe that having the capacity to work and get along with people from other nationalities is essential in the The Apprentice context.

Wilson might be seen as a world traveler since, following his time at Princeton, he left the country to go to Japan in order to further his athletic career.
However, the presence of his Filipina wife Carmina Mancenon-Wilson greatly aided his adventurous attitude, one who is willing to step outside of his comfort zone.
“I enjoy being in an environment where things are run a little bit differently, where people are speaking a language I don’t understand,” he remarked.
Naturally, Carmina was always on Roman’s side.

Wilson was first introduced to the Filipino way of life by her, back when Roman was still pursuing her.

“The first week we met, she was visiting her parents in Japan when I was living there. We only had about a week of time to get to know each other before she had to fly back to graduate school in the US. She was only there for a week, but a week was enough time for me to know that I wanted to be with her. That’s when we started to discuss if we want to start dating and pursue our relationship,” Roman shared.

As relentless as Wilson was in the gridiron, he’s just as intense in his pursuit of Carmina.

It didn’t matter that they’re miles apart from each other. Roman still found a way to Carmina’s heart — one he found through her parents who are living in Japan.
