Francisco Miguel Lindor Serrano, sometimes known as “Mr. Smile,” is a shortstop in Major League Baseball (MLB) who plays for the New York Mets and was born in Puerto Rico on November 14, 1993. He was a player with the Cleveland Indians in the past. Lindor, a switch hitter and right-handed thrower, is 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 meters) tall and weighs 190 pounds (86 kg).
In his first two major league seasons, Lindor hit over.300 and played excellent defense. He was selected for his first All-Star team and won the Gold Glove Award in 2016, making history as the first shortstop from Puerto Rico to do so.[1] In 2017, he took home his first Silver Slugger Award. He was chosen for the 2017 All-WBC Team and finished second in the American League Rookie of the Year voting in 2015. He was a member of the 30–30 club in 2023.
Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Lindor started playing baseball at a young age. When he was twelve, his family relocated to Florida. In the 2011 MLB draft, he was selected by the Indians with the eighth overall pick in the first round. He played in the minor leagues.
Miguel Angel Lindor and Maria Serrano had four children total when Lindor, the third, was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, on November 14, 1993. His father helped him learn how to play baseball at an early age. He would hit ground balls to him from the top of a hill, and the younger Lindor would stand halfway down the slope and try to field them.[5] The middle infielders Robbie Alomar, Omar Vizquel, Derek Jeter, Jimmy Rollins, and Barry Larkin were among Lindor’s childhood idols.
At the age of twelve, Lindor, along with his father, stepmother, and younger sibling, relocated to Central Florida and enrolled in the prep school Montverde Academy.In August 2011, he signed a contract with the Cleveland Indians, and his mother and two elder siblings went with him.
