American pitcher Christopher Allen Sale, born March 30, 1989, plays Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Atlanta Braves. He was formerly a player with the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox in Major League Baseball. He weighs 183 pounds (83 kg), is 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 m) tall, and bats and throws left-handed.
Born and raised in Lakeland, Florida, which is near Tampa Bay, Sale attended Florida Gulf Coast University to play collegiate baseball. In the 2010 MLB draft, the Chicago White Sox selected him with the 13th overall pick, and on August 6, 2010, he made his MLB debut. Prior to the 2017 campaign, he was traded to the Boston Red Sox, where he played a crucial role in their winning pitching rotation.

On March 30, 1989, Christopher Allen Sale was born in Lakeland, Florida. He played baseball and basketball at Lakeland Senior High School, from which he graduated [1].[2] Sale was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 21st round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft following his senior season with the Dreadnaughts. However, he declined to sign with the team and opted to enroll at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Under head coach Dave Tollett, Sale participated in collegiate baseball for the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles.[4] Sale had an 11–0 win–loss record and a 2.01 ERA in 17 games during his 2010 FGCU campaign.[5] Sale threw 103 innings, recording 14 walks and 146 strikeouts.[5] By the end of the regular season, he had the most strikeouts in the NCAA.[6] Sale was selected as the Collegiate Baseball Player of the Year and the Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Year.[7] He joins pitchers Richard Bleier, Jacob Barnes, and Casey Coleman as the four Eagles who have major league experience.
